PTR Testing part 3

March 4th 2009 at 20:53

Today I got to try the encounter which is meant to be the opening encounter in Ulduar. As many of you probably know it's something with vehicles which makes it very special. The first you need to know when you start the encounter is - DONT ALT + TAB! So yeah, alt +tab and vehicles = bad bad bad. Now when you have beaten the hard part of the encounter (avoiding the critical errors) it is time to do the easy stuff. I must admit that I didn't bother reading much about the encounter so I basically just did as told.

I was assigned to a Siege Vehicle which is the one tanking the boss - a big bad rusty tank called Flame Leviathan. So the idea is that you have 2 of those Siege Vehicles at your disposal and the boss will switch hunting 1 of you. Obviously he is too bad ass to be tanked for too long so you have to kite him around in the big room.

While kiting the other people in your raid have to kill the boss and weaken it by using the other vehicles. I honestly don't know what they are doing exactely but the boss went down nevertheless really fast!

The event itself is nothing exciting however it is not as bad as I thought it would be. I defiently could live very well without the event though. :P

Yet again the hardets part of the encounter seems to be that mysterious hidden ability called "Critical Error". I wonder why Blizzard gave all the bosses that ability and didn't even put a cool down on it. :S

Cya soon when there are more stuff to do!

Ps. I think there are a lot of typos but too lazy at the moment to fix. :P

PTR Testing part 2

March 1st 2009 at 01:02

Today Blizzard had opened up for Freya - a boss which can be done with/without adds up similar to the Sartharion encounter. The start of the raid was very dreadful tbh. Everyone kept getting critical errors and ended up looking at the login screen. Due to everyone having this problem Blizzard decided to postpone the opening of Ulduar today untill they had fixed the login issues.

When everything was finally fixed (more or less) Ulduar opened around 20 and we could finally venture into the instance to see the new boss. The room where we found Freya is very similar to the Sartharion room. There are 3 minibosses in each their corner and they are surronded with some trash packs. We decided to clear both trash and minibosses today and just test Freya without any special stuff going on. It was pretty annoying that everytime we engaged the trash our FPS dropped to very low (3-10 fps) however the trash wasn't so challenging which made us clear it rather fast.

Before starting on Freya we had the pleasure to have a GM joining us to watch what was going on. On the first few tries we tried to figure out exactely what was going on and which abilities we should look out for. Then we had a try where our dmg dealers failed on killing some adds at the same time which was very annoying as it would have been a kill however we just gave it another go and finally managed to execute it right. I think it took us 5 tries or so.

The encounter looks really promising so far. Without any minibosses up the encounter is fairly easy however not stupidly easy as Sartharion without drakes - You still need to put an effort into doing it right. We have yet to try the encounter with 1 or more minibosses up but we are defiently looking forward to it and hope we will finally get a hard challenge apart from the challenge in staying online or logging in on the server.

After Freya we were chatting a bit with the GM about the encounter and we ended up helping him and his fellow GM's with some tests on a modified Patchwerk. First we got a normal Patchwerk with A LOT more HP than the usual one you find in Naxx25 so they could test our DPS output. 2nd we got a Pacthwerk which didn't do hateful strikes but just placed a stacking buff on himself which increased his dmg so the GM's could test tanking and healing - They wanted to see how long we could keep our MT up.

All in all it was another great day with some cool PTR testing. I however understand the frustration it must be for those having troubles getting it to work. It is never fun seeing people have fun on new bosses and then not being able to yourself because of server issues. Hopefully it will be fixed soon or later. The servers will most likely be up for a long time with many different bosses to test so there is hope for those of you who had to spend the whole evening looking at a login screen after getting critical error no. 3324214.

The next PTR raid should be on Monday I heard so I will be back with you with an update by then. Hopefully it will be another cool boss and not just something that can be killed in no time without any effort. Cya soon!

PTR Testing part 1

February 27th 2009 at 22:04

As you probably know the new raid instance Ulduar is being tested on the public test realms right now. Today Blizzard opened up for the first time on the EU realms and they had the boss called Thorim waiting for us.

The encounter was unfortunately not as challenging as it was to avoid getting critical errors but it was nice to try something totally new again just as I did on Kil'Jaeden.

After a few tries Thorim had to give up and we were done for the day. Apparently Blizzard thought that when he was killed he had been tested enough and they decided to shut down PTR testing for now.

Hopefully we will have some more challenging encounters ahead and some more fun without too many problems with the server. I will keep you updated tomorrow about my PTR experiences.

In the rhytm of Ska-P

February 12th 2009 at 10:19

SI SEÑOR !
Yes , it’s true , I’ve been having 2 days break from WoW to attend something I’ve been looking forward to since I bought tickets in October. I’m talking about Ska-P concert in Prague February the 10th. For those who have no clue what Ska-P is let me introduce it to you a bit. It’s a spanish ska-punk band. But what speaks better about band than their music and lyrics ? So I won’t bother you further explaining ,I recommend you to go , listen and translate :D

The journey begins
Me , my Brother and 2 of our friends went to the concert. We went from Trencin to Puchov and then to Prague by train. It was long and boring 6 hours ride. We arrived at 17:00 with hours left to the begining. We bought something to eat ,checked trams and set off to Tesla arena where the concert was hold in. It was supposed to be in a lesser building but the organizers didnt realize that after reunion of disbanded Ska-P a large number of fans would want to see them performing again. The gates of ice-hockey stadium opened at 19:00 and around 19:30 Prague Ska Conspiracy started their show followed by Fast Food Orchestra. Then we had to wait and at ~21:00 when Ska – P got on the stage . I thought they would play mostly songs from their new album . I was wrong . They started with El Gato Lopez , followed by Nino Soldado . They played only like 3 or 4 of their new songs. The rest were the most famous ones from Incontrolable album. Organizers estimate that more than 9000 tickets were sold. They could be right , the hall was full . Damn , how my legs and throat hurt. But it was totally worth it . I love their songs . I love the combination of ska and punk. It makes you smile , it makes you jump and enjoy it. It’s such energic music full of life that cant let anyone just stand and watch. I liked it even when I didnt understand the lyrics when I first heard them on Pohoda fest some years ago because I cant speak spanish ^______^. So I browsed the internet a bit and found out that they were singing about freedom , antifascists , anti – racists , and against war and I loved them even more :D
Viva la revolucion !
Hasta la Victoria Siempre !

Nostalgia part 2

January 31st 2009 at 01:05

Since Bellix decided to write some stuff about her time in vanilla WoW I thought that I could probably give my story as well. If you have read our blog entries you already know all about our time on Lightning’s Blade and how we met each other so I will go even further back to my time before Lightning’s Blade to the very start of my “WoW-career”. Back to a time where everyone was noobs and raiding was only for the most nerdish people on earth. I will take you back to my time on Sylvanas – Horde side!

It is very cool when the old school people in Method get nostalgic and start talking about the very start of Sylvanas and the people who played back then. They always mention names of people I remember from when I played there. As I have mentioned some time ago I had some class mates asking me to start playing with them while WoW was quite new. I decided to give it a chance and we agreed to start as soon as a new server would come up. We had already made plans for the classes we should take so we could have everything covered for instances and such stuff. We ended up having a priest, rogue, mage (me), warrior and a shaman in our team. The idea was to make a guild with us as leaders and make it the best guild on the server. The day after we had settled everything Sylvanas came up as a new server and we made our characters there. Unfortunately we didn’t get further than around level 10 and some of the guys had some drama in between them which resulted in the shaman leaving us. Then around level 20 the priest gave up and the warrior was very slow at leveling. In the end it was just me and the rogue Bladespinner left. We leveled together all the way to level 60 where we had our own guild which started to grow pretty good.

The shaman who had left us in the low levels had taken benefit of not having to play with us “noobs” and he had leveled a lot faster and joined the best guild on the horde side called E P I C. Since he never had had any troubles with me he was from time to time offering me a spot in the guild so I could play with the best people however I remained loyal to my rogue friend and stayed with him all the time. After some time we realized that leading a guild wasn’t as easy as we thought and we had to face that we did not have the skills to keep people in our guild. Bladespinner decided to quit WoW and I was left alone and free to do whatever I wanted. I decided to try to join some bigger guilds and my first stop was the Moo Mafia! It was a really nice guild with awesome people. I especially liked the guild leader Demitri – a cool tauren hunter. I had a great time in the guild even though it wasn’t for long. I started to get bored of doing nothing but 5 man instances and UBRS. E P I C had disbanded and my shaman friend had joined up with the new leading horde guild Enraged. It was a guild competing with Method for server first kills and he kept telling me how awesome it was to raid and asked me to come and join him. I didn’t feel I was ready to join up with Enraged so I took a smaller step up to another guild that had just started raiding MC. I honestly can’t remember the guild name (sorry) but I didn’t stay there for long anyway.

After raiding MC for a few weeks Enraged disbanded and at the same time Bladespinner came back to WoW. He managed to get some good contacts with the people from the old Enraged and when they made a new guild called Atmosphere he got an invite and managed to take me with him. I suppose he motivated me to go for the real competition. In Atmosphere I met a lot of pro people! They were taking raiding very seriously and it was very hard for me to get used to this new kind of raiding. I decided to focus on being the best and tried to do my job as good as possible. Needless to say I was still a noob and probably vey clueless about what I was actually doing ^_^.

I managed to get the server first Azuresong Mageblade which I was very proud of! It was my first epic item and it was an awesome feeling to finally get such a nice item. I have to say that it didn’t feel like the leadership was particularly happy to give it to me but everyone else had already spent their DKP on t1 so they had no other choice than giving the sword to me. I guess I made their concerns justice when Method managed to kill Ragnaros server first. It was a huge blow for me since we had really worked hard to get that kill and I really wanted to get a server first. Bladespinner who had come back after another fast “WoW-quit” told me about his plans to start on a new server and make an alliance character. Lightning’s Blade came up a few days after and I decided to follow him there. On Sylvanas there was a Danish guy like me who played a priest in Atmosphere. He was really good and did some stuff I had never seen before. He inspired me to make a priest and so I did. I created Lotuz, human female priest, on Lightning’s Blade and my destiny as hardcore raider had just started…

Nostalgia all over

Greetings

What we read nowadays on forums are whines on the Blizzard’s newest data disk WotLK. To sum it up and quote some people : “ I miss vanilla WoW , WotLK sucks even more than TBC , it’s so easy , I have nothing to do in the game..’’. I miss vanilla WoW too, I miss TBC. But I don’t whine about it . I think WotLK’s just started and the best will come in time but so far I’m enjoying it. If you think about all the whining people , they do find the time to log on forums and write annoying post but they don’t find time to do a thing about it.For all the lazy whiners I have a hint. Recently, I have started farming group for the old world content including Molten Core , BlackWing Lair , Zul’ Gurub , Ahn’ Qiraj 20 /40 for reputation(but not just for rep , as you all know I’m big lore fan). Last reset it took us ~3 hours to clear them all. It’s really nice to walk on bridges over lava in MC , meeting old Ragny , experiencing ultimate Vael’s buff , having fun on Nefarian’ s class calls (btw: Did you know they had added a DK call ? ^________^), tickling C’thun ‘s belly , weakening Uncle Ossirian or visiting our good old friend Hakkar.

Since everyone’s mentioning the vanilla WoW I thought I’d write something about what comes to my mind when someone says vanilla WoW. Old world WoW ties with Lighting’s blade server to me. In summer 2005 I made a NE female priest on a freshly launched server LB. I’ve started leveling and was trying to be one of the firsts to meet level 60. During the trip I met 2 NE males : a druid Wonder and a warrior Shoot which I found out they were from Slovakia and Czech . I joined their guild and met a human priest Lumier from Slovakia and we became good friends , had our channel where we were discussing things happening to us.

As the first lvl 60 started gathering , they created a guild Empyrean where we(read : me , Wonder , Shoot , Lumier ) started raiding and cleared MC up to Majordomo Executus. Then disband came and I followed my friends with loads of other Empyrean people to Hexagram guild lead by Russians(you know who you are <3) . Achieved server firsts from Ragnaros ( I had to sing on VT after kill ^______^) to Chromagus. By the time ZG was released so we spent our time there too. Lately I became ZG raidleader and they were always making fun that there were more people listening than in 40 man raids xD . We disbanded before we could kill Nefarian and we went to New Paradigm where I met Lotuz aka Excelle by that time playing priest. I’ve spent AQ times as well as Naxxramas times there , though we only managed to kill 10 bosses in Naxx . We disbanded before TBC and took what were supposed the best players from NP to Dreams where we raided Karazhan and tried Gruul. But after many disappointments I realized that the people didn’t want the same as me. I got accepted to guild TACO on Magtheridon and that’s where TBC started for me.

When I think back on these old times it makes me miss all the people I played with and all my old friends. I’m missing them all , but the most of all I miss Nami , our NE hunter with violet hair, whome I will never be able to talk to again.

My cz/svk friends are playing with me again on Sylvanas after being apart for TBC (+ to mention Naamah) and I can say that I like being on my realm even more now.

Awwwww, I’m being nostalgic ……

Year 2008 - Looking Back

January 27th 2009 at 08:20

Hay hou everyone ^^

Ye, that's right we are back. And today we are talking about year 2008.

Excelle

Last year offered a lot of excitement and good experiences in WoW as well as in the real life. It was a year filled with events everywhere. I guess I had it all planned very well from the previous year. The idea was to have a year unlike any other I had had so far.

In January there wasn't much to do in WoW. It was just the same boring farming raids as usual. My own life was on the other hand a lot more interesting.
For the first time ever I had actaully nothing to do! No school, no job, no commitments - Nothing! The feeling of waking up well-knowing that I could sleep
whole day or just sit in front of the TV or computer was awsome. Finally I had the freedom to do whatever I wanted. The first thing I did was to order train tickets to Sweden so I could visit a good and old friend from my early days in WoW. I went to see him in the end of January where it is REALLY cold in Sweden. We had a great time together and it was so cool to just spend some time with him and his family while doing what we liked the most - playing WoW and watching movies!

Then February came and it was time for me to go to Czech Republic where I also have good friends from WoW. It is always fun to be with these guys.
In the daytime we sit at the local netcafe and play WoW and Dota - Nighttime it is all about getting drunk! I somehow managed to drink a lot more than
I usually do which also ended with me having a date with the toilet at the pub. At the same time Sunwell was released on the public test servers and since
it wasn't possible to copy your character at any time but the early moarning (I'm sure most of you remember) and since I wasn't really anyway near being
awake in the morning I had to get Bellix to copy my character. Everything went well and when I came home to Denmark again I was ready to PWN THE F....sit and wait for the server to be up.

March was all about trying to get on the public test server to try out the new encounters while farming the same content all over again. March was also the month where I went to visit Bellix for the first time. Since we already wrote about that I won't really say anything about that here. It was an awsome time and I loved it.

The next couple of months went pretty fast. Sunwell came out and the race for good progress had started. I was very happy when I managed to get world's 10th kill on Felmyst with Failure. I finally felt that I was a part of the race. As I already wrote in a previous blogentry Failure had some problems which lead to the guilddisband and I moved on to Method together with Nihlathak and Radana. Bellix followed the week later. In my real life I had more visits planned and it was quite funny that the next stop was Turkey to visit Nihlathak, his girlfriend and Radana. I managed to be in Turkey for around 10 minutes (not counting all the boring airport stuff)
before I got an SMS from Shaam that Kil'Jaeden was up and I had to show for raid early the next morning. It was pretty cool to sit and fight for a world
first next to Nihlathak and the atmosphere was awsome when we finally killed as world's 2nd. Even though I was a bit annoyed that I had to spend 5 days
playing WoW on my vacation I still had almost 2 weeks more to see Turkey.

When I came home from Turkey everything started to calm down. Sunwell was being farmed which meant that we were barely raiding and I didn't have
more vacations planned before July. In the middle of July I went to France with my family to get some sun and some time away from WoW. It was actaully pretty nice that I for once didn't have to think about anything related to WoW.

After my vacation in France it was time for Slovakia. Actaully I had planned to visit another guy in Slovakia for a few days before meeting up with Bellix but he suddenly had a problem with having me staying which meant that Bellix had to live with me for a few more days than planned. Once again I will refer to a previous blog about my 2nd stay with Bellix.

September came and it was time for me to stop slacking and going back to something I really hate... School! Even though I don't like school I have to admit
that I am very much satisfied with my current education. We don't really have much homework and it is all in all a very relaxed enviroment. There are also quite a few in my class that playes WoW and even though they are not playing on my level it is still very nice to have someone in the "real life" whome I can talk about WoW with. My schedule was also pretty good which meant that I only had to take 1 day off when WotLK came out.

In the end of the year there hasn't been so much of interest really. Everything in WoW is pretty easy so I was mostly just doing achievements. 2008 was a really nice year for me where I met a lot of new people - both in WoW and in school - and I managed to get a half year with only "slacking".

I hope 2009 will be a great year as well. My wish for this year will be to achieve a world first with Method and have some people visiting

me here in Denmark.

Bellix

Year 2008 began nice for me . I spent 3 days on a cottage with my friends. After I came home relaxed, I once again had to deal with things officers have to.
At that time I was healing / recruitment officer in Failure guild on Magtheridon - EU playing on my cute NE priest ^^. My job was to assign healing tactics on all bosses and deal with the task of recruiting new people to the guild, because at this point we were raiding Mount Hyjal and Black Temple for months and people started to burn out. Also, would you believe that even after so long time of farming could people have problems with not getting epic or just completely forget tactics? ^______^ We had our loot council system and no matter what we did people just couldn't be satisfied and wanted more and more epexx.

What released us from this was sunwell on test realms but we didn't spend as much time there as we expected and we couldn't practice the encounters a lot. We planned to raid as soon as servers come up on Sunwell release to compete with the best guilds. Things didnt go that well but we did achieve world 10th and eu 3rd kill on Felmyst . We were happy then, but the inner guild problems were spreading and finally we hit wall called the M'uru combined with our GM absence and the guild
started to disband. I saw many people leaving /migrating w/e while I was staying , hoping for something - I dont even know for what. I knew that this was over , but I have this 'thingy'in me, it takes me time to get used to new guild but the more time I spend with them the more I like them and it's always hard when I have to leave them. What should I do ? Stay on server with 3/4 of friends transfered away ?

I decided to follow Excelle , Nihlathak and Radana to Method on Sylvanas realm, I talked with Safarii and he accepted me as a holy priest trial. On the same day I transfered to Method we got message from the US realms that the last Sunwell gate is opened, so I took my 8 hours of sleep and we began the race for our World 2nd KJ kill. After I'd made it to a member I transfered my draenei priest there as an alt , we priests decided to reroll from NEs(we were all NEs except Bob the dorf <3) to humans for spirit and other racial spells and I wanted a draenei for (yea I admit it -the Looks : hooves , tail and glowing eyes-) hit aura , 1 more hit but mostly party mana regen spell Symbol of Hope. In preparation for WotLK, we got them geared and they became our new mains. Guess you all remember what Blizzard did, they erased uniquenes of priests, nerfed human spirit and took Devouring Plague, Desperate Prayer and Symbol of Hope and made it available to all priests.

For the rest of the year until November we just continued clearing sunwell and raiding on Wrath beta until WotLK hit. There the awesome leveling and beating encounters competition started. I'm happy that I can say I own a server first 80 priest feat of strength and some very nice titles from server first boss kills. Since then we just clear the WotLK instances and do achievements like
my favourite Loremaster :D

Through the whole year I've still worked at the same place, kept meeting my friends on regular basis, having Excelle here 2 times, visited some slovak music festivals during the summer and had loads of fun.

I'm already looking forward what this year will bring, mainly Ulduar raid and of course finally visiting Excelle in Denmark.

See you all in our next blog :)

Loremaster here I come!

January 22nd 2009 at 22:30

So the Loremaster achievement has been nerfed with the latest patch which is good news for all the lazy people (read: me) who didn't want to do it before. I have finally started my quest to achieve the Loremaster title once again and today I managed to get the nerfed version of Kalimdor Loremaster. That means that I now only have 20 quests left to do in Icecrown for my title!!!

There will be more and better blogs the following days! We have plenty of things to write about and now we just need the time to make them. You will hear more from us very soon.

Happy New Year - A bit late, but better late than never

January 7th 2009 at 13:26

Hello everyone.

How are you doing?

We have been a bit silent lately, sorry for that. As someone wise said , everything that has beginning, has an end. And so it come to pass that my leisure time is over and after wonderful 7 days away from work, which I wisely spent on drinking, partying, drinking, relaxing, more partying, I am back here @ work.

Anyway, what an awesome feeling when one can relax and do absolutely nothing serious, I was looking for my holiday for a long time and remembered to save all my cooldowns for End of Year 2008. Missing from work for 7 days equals loads of work to do when you get back, but I am slowly digging through it. Excelle is meanwhile enjoying the best days for every student - exam time, well hope he will pass them all with A grade.

So stay tuned with us, we will be back with more blogging very soon.

Bellix and Excelle.

Merry Christmas

December 24th 2008 at 20:15

So the Christmas are finally here, Excelle is spending them away with his family and I have just finished unpacking all the presents and watching Cinderella. Today was a peaceful day, me being finally away from work madness, spent the morning in the kitchen, afternoon in raid (yea, we got Immortal and Heroic: Glory of Raider at last) and the evening with my family. The next step is probably going to be some casual drinking with friends.

Anyway, won't bother you any longer. Have a very happy and nice Christmas, hope you all get loads of presents and from me - well loads of Love.

<3 Love and Peace wish you Excelle and Bellis <3
